Coming Soon: Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland!
Wednesday, 23 November 2016
Now in its tenth year in Queen’s Park Gardens, the Christmas Wonderland light show, hosted by the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, is a beautiful community event that is a special annual tradition for many families.
Our Chairman, Ray Taylor has generously provided the transportation for the decorations since the event’s move to Queen’s Park, and our team look forward to delivering the items and working with this fabulous group of volunteers to begin set-up.
The event was started by the Burstow family 14 years ago with the dream of creating an event to bring the Toowoomba community together to share in the joy and wonder of Christmas.
Last year over 80,000 people enjoyed the lights over 18 amazing nights with only one night washed out due to wet weather. The event raised $75,000 which was donated to local charities.
This year’s major beneficiaries will be Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Qld Ltd, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Toowoomba Hospice.
